The internships are reserved to undergraduate students currently enrolled in a master’s degree course in fields related to the research topics.
-
Teleoperated Robot-Human Interactions
The internship will be carried out in the Group of Humanoid Sensing and Perception coordinated by Lorenzo Natale in the Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (Genova, Italy).
General description: Teleoperated humanoid robots can be used as an efficient tool to collect data while interacting with a human partner. You will analyze such data, which will be then used to train learning strategies to make the robot autonomous.

‘Growing Robots’ Used to Navigate Unexplored Environments
The internship will be carried out in the Group of Bioinspired Soft Robotics coordinated by Barbara Mazzolai in the Center for Converging Technologies (Genova, Italy).
General description: ‘Growing robots’ autonomously construct their bodies; such robots are exploited to navigate environments with unknown internal structure. You will (re)design and fabricate components, implement and validate navigation strategies, and test the system in real-world scenarios.

Autonomous, Bio-inspired, Burrowing Systems
The internship will be carried out in the Group of Bioinspired Soft Robotics coordinated by Barbara Mazzolai in the Center for Converging Technologies (Genova, Italy).
General description: Burrowing systems are tunnels or cavities created in the ground by animals for various purposes (shelter, protection, locomotion, food storage). You will study and analyze burrowing systems for then designing and fast prototyping new ones; you will also assemble the systems and then test and validate their performance.
